We are looking for people who have worked in a similar role with exposure to cloud data warehousing, some examples of this are BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Athena, AWS RDS and with experience in some of the following: UNIX, SAS and GRID infrastructure & control, IBM Load Sharing Facility (LSF), Windows Server, QlikSense and Microsoft Sql Server.
This person will have the ability to approach infrastructure and application issues and investigate possible solutions – test and implementation. We are also looking for people who have a strong business analysis and engagement skills to be able to communicate with other people within the business.
You will be working within the Chief Data Office at the centre of the business and often you will also work directly with other technical teams. You will be required to work some weekends and some evenings to implement and/or support platform changes and incidents, however most of the time this will be flexible with hours and working patterns. There is also the flexibility to work from home 1 or 2 days a week.
You will be responsible for working on new projects/implementations as well as supporting existing deployed code and applications on premise and cloud solutions. The Platform development projects will include many streams from different parties including 3 party development, you will be acting as the gate keeper ensuring nothing gets deployed that doesn’t meet our development standards. You will also be required to support production incidents. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle from requirements analysis through to design, development sprints and testing phases. This role will be tightly integrated with our visualization team.
