External Reporting Manager

Finance, Risk, Audit & Actuarial
Permanent

Role overview

DLG is evolving. Across every part of our business, teams are embracing new opportunities and putting customers at the heart of everything they do. Whether you're already part of DLG or thinking about joining us, you'll have the chance not only to be recognised for your skills, but also to build on them and be empowered to do your very best.

We’re looking for a driven External Reporting Manager to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end production of statutory accounts across our insurance and non-insurance entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement in our reporting processes.

You’ll thrive here if you’re curious and confident — someone who doesn’t stop at “I don’t know”, but instead finds the answer, connects the dots and drives things forward.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting that supports Group objectives and tells our financial story with clarity and impact.

  • Lead the end-to-end preparation of statutory accounts for all insurance and non-insurance entities.

  • Ensure reporting is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time in line with IFRS and regulatory standards.

  • Support the delivery of consolidated financial information for Group reporting.

  • Oversee the year-end reporting timetable, coordinating activities with the EXL team and internal stakeholders.

  • Provide input on complex accounting areas such as goodwill impairment, onerous contracts, and detailed account analysis.

  • Review, challenge and interpret financial variances to provide meaningful insight.

  • Manage verification processes for financial and non-financial disclosures, liaising with external auditors.

  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Risk, HR, and Aviva to support a smooth reporting cycle.

  • Drive process improvements and strengthen reporting controls.

Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. When you'll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in our London Riverbank House office.

What you’ll need

  • Part of qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent (Big 4 experience highly desirable).

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and external reporting frameworks.

  • Proven experience in statutory and group financial reporting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate technical insights clearly.

  • Experience using financial reporting systems (e.g. Wdesk, FCCS, Oracle, TM1) desirable.

  • A proactive, self-starter mindset — you take ownership, find solutions, and drive progress.

  • Collaborative, organised and detail-focused, able to deliver under pressure while keeping sight of the bigger picture.

There’s a lot of collaboration in high-pressure environments because you need those different opinions in order to get things done.

The work is so dynamic and ever evolving. You might not think that from insurance but there’s a strong focus on adapting to new challenges.

I feel like I’m in charge and in control of my work. My opinion is valid, I can speak up, and challenge opinions.

It’s a great business and a great opportunity and full of great people who really want to get things done.
