DLG is evolving. Across every facet of our business, our teams are embracing new opportunities and putting customers at the heart of everything they do. By joining the Legal Services team you’ll be working in a place where empathy meets expertise. Within our own dedicated law firm, our diversely talented team support and guide customers through life’s toughest moments.

What you'll be doing:

We’re searching for Apprentices to join our team on a 6-year Programme within DLG Legal Services. During the programme you will gain experience in various departments within DLG Legal Services, developing your technical and soft skills whilst studying towards the Solicitors Qualifying Exams on the 6-year Apprenticeship with a view to qualifying as a Solicitor and gaining a permanent position in one of our Litigation teams.

Your apprenticeship rotation could follow this or a similar path:

  • Year 1 – You will start in our Customer Response Team, learning the start of the claims process, being responsible for initial contact with the client, completing telephone Q&A’s with the client, proactively managing their expectations and providing clear and correct information using a friendly and professional manner.
  • Year 2 – You will then progress to the Settlement Unit to learn the end of the claims process, chasing and dealing with incoming payments, clearing balances and closing files.
  • Years 3 & 4 – You will work in our Motor Damage or Dispute Resolution teams, assessing who is at fault and the value of the claim as well as dealing with litigation tasks such as drafting court documents, dealing with court directions and preparing for trial and providing advice to our clients.
  • Years 5 & 6 – You will complete your apprenticeship working in our Personal Injury Litigation team, dealing with employer liability and public liability as well as road traffic accident claims, assisting with higher value claims and dealing with all aspects of litigation.

Training Provided:

As a Solicitor apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Solicitor Level 7 Apprenticeship. Additional learning within the apprenticeship at levels 4, 5 and 6 will enable you to be awarded an LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice, from BPP.

Your Level 7 apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face from BPP (alongside our award-winning internal training). Coupled with the on-the-job learning, completion of the apprenticeship will lead to obtaining your solicitor qualification.

Please note that Level 7 the apprenticeship may change depending on any upcoming funding changes to be announced by the government.

What you'll need:

To be eligible to apply for this apprenticeship you will:

  • Need at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C (4) or above and 3 A Levels with 128 UCAS points (or be predicted to achieve these).
  • Applicants need to have lived in the UK for the last 3 years
  • Those awaiting A Level results will be required to sit an entry examination with BPP for eligibility

The people within my area are super supportive and you’re encouraged to do more, push you enough to improve and become more confident.

I always wanted to work here. I got a place on this scheme two weeks before starting university, so I retracted my uni place, and it was so worth it.

If I had gone to college, I feel I would’ve wasted my time. Here I feel like I’ve got purpose, and I’m working every single day towards a better future.
